Getting to know Paula Pfeifer
Paula Pfeifer specializes in content about deafness, hearing aids and cochlear implants. She leads the largest online community of hearing technology users in Latin America and has been writing Crônicas da Surdez since 2010. She is a social scientist, writer, entrepreneur, speaker and content strategist. Paula is a deaf blogger, married to
Dr. Luciano Moreira, an ENT specialist in deafness
.
He was diagnosed with progressive bilateral sensorineural hearing loss at the age of 16. After wearing hearing aids for many years, he now uses bilateral cochlear implant.
In 2013 he launched the book
Chronicles of Deafness
. His second book,
New Chronicles of Deafness: cochlear implant epiphanies
was published in 2015. In 2022, he launched the book
Out of the Deaf Closet
. All of them are available in e-book format on Amazon Kindle, also in English and Spanish.
In 2018, Crônicas da Surdez won the
Facebook Community Leadership Program
as a Resident for Latin America. Paula led a project funded to the tune of U$1,000,000 for the benefit of deaf people.
