“My name is Carolina, and I am Brazilian. I spend a lot of time in NYC at my sister’s house, and on my last trip, I needed to see an ENT doctor because I got off the plane with sudden hearing loss. In 2019, they won the Facebook Community Leadership Program (out of more than 6,500 applicants from around the world), and with the prize, they created and executed the project “I am deaf but I can hear,” which impacted the lives of millions of Brazilians living with hearing loss.
